The offer

Three things we work on

Whichever way you choose to work with me — 1:1, cohort or workshop — every programme is built around the same three shifts.

01

Lead with Care

The non-clinical skills nobody trained you for: handling team conflict, holding difficult conversations, and leading with confidence.

02

Create with Clarity

Communicate with impact, get a realistic grip on your workload, and decide where your career is actually going.

03

Grow with Purpose

Set boundaries that hold, protect your wellbeing, and build a way of working you can keep up for the long term.

01 — The approach

Practical, pragmatic tools
to regain control.

As an established coal-face NHS Consultant, clinical leader, and parent, I have lived the pressures of working and leading in modern healthcare. By learning to pause, reset, and access some of the tools I advocate, I positively reshaped my own life with clarity and purpose.

Building on years of mentoring and supervising NHS colleagues, I now deliver life coaching, professional mentoring and leadership development to doctors and healthcare professionals. I offer practical, pragmatic, and proven tools to help you regain control, restore your balance, and thoughtfully reshape how you work and live.

Restoring Alignment & Effectiveness in Consultant Teams

When consultant teams become divided, decision-making slows, service development stalls, and tensions begin to affect the wider workforce. We help Medical Directors / Chief Medical Officers, Clinical Directors, Clinical Leads and consultant groups navigate complex organisational challenges, rebuild trust, and restore effective collective leadership.

Outcomes we help achieve

  • Clearer decision-making and reduced meeting gridlock.
  • Greater alignment around service redesign and strategic priorities.
  • Improved working relationships across consultant groups and specialties.
  • Reduced friction around rotas, cross-cover arrangements and resource allocation.
  • Renewed confidence in clinical leadership and governance processes.
  • A healthier environment for residents, SAS doctors and multidisciplinary teams.

When it may be time to intervene

You may recognise some of these signs:

  • The same disagreements repeatedly dominate departmental discussions.
  • Consultant groups have become polarised or fragmented.
  • Service improvements are delayed because consensus cannot be reached.
  • Formal grievances, complaints or professional tensions are increasing.
  • Recruitment, retention or succession planning are becoming more difficult.
  • Clinical leaders feel caught between competing factions.

A peer-led approach

Consultant teams are unlikely to engage openly with facilitators who do not understand the realities of NHS clinical leadership.

Our work is grounded in first-hand experience of leading within the NHS, enabling credible peer-to-peer engagement while maintaining independence and neutrality.

We create a confidential and psychologically safe environment in which difficult issues can be explored constructively and translated into practical action.

How we work

  1. 1

Individual confidential conversations with key stakeholders.

  2. 2

Independent analysis of common themes and systemic issues.

  3. 3

Clear diagnostic feedback identifying barriers to progress.

  4. 4

Focused facilitation designed to rebuild alignment and move teams forward.

The result

Better conversations. Better decisions.
Better functioning teams.

When consultant groups work effectively together, service change becomes possible, leadership becomes easier, and organisations are better able to deliver for patients and staff.

05 — About

Meet Som

I've worked in the NHS long enough to see the best and worst of what it can demand from people. During the pandemic, like many colleagues, I pushed myself far past what was healthy — minimal poor quality sleep, constant pressure, and the sense that whatever we did, it would never be enough. It was burnout and it forced me to rethink how I was working and living. All alongside a busy household with three young children, being aware of distant ageing parents, feeling responsible, upwards as well as down, as the 'sandwich' generation.

Having a reset allowed me to step into senior leadership roles on my terms, showing me something important: clinical expertise isn't the whole job. The real turning point for me came through leadership development and coaching. Not the corporate, glossy version — the practical kind that helps you think clearly, set boundaries, lead teams well, and build a life that isn't swallowed by work. It changed how I show up as a consultant, a colleague, and a person.

I've seen the difference it makes. Not just in performance, but in wellbeing, confidence, and sustainability. Coaching isn't about fixing people — it's about giving people, and particularly clinicians the space and tools to lead with intent rather than exhaustion. But it also allows you to accept yourself and acknowledging that being 'good enough' is absolutely good enough.

So here's my pitch: If you're a clinical colleague in a role where leadership is part and parcel of your daily life, don't wait until you're burnt out. Learn how to lead others and yourself. Invest in your development early. Build the habits, clarity, and resilience that make the job sustainable. Leadership development helped me rebuild after burnout. It can help you stay ahead of it. We need clinicians who can lead well and live well and it is possible — and it starts with taking your own development seriously.
